Getting Started

From zero to a live business website in under 30 minutes. Here's exactly what to do.

Create your account

Sign up at swbuilder.com. During signup, choose a subdomain — for example, "joes-plumbing". This becomes your free web address: joes-plumbing.swbuilder.com. Available instantly, no setup required.

Fill in your business details

From any device — phone, tablet, or desktop — add your business name and tagline, a description of your services, your phone number and contact email, your business address and service area, and your operating hours.

Upload your photos

Add a logo, a hero photo (your cover image), and a gallery of your work. Even 3–4 clear photos taken on your phone make a big difference. Customers trust what they can see.

Add your services

List what you offer. Each service gets a name, a short description, and an optional photo. This is what customers see when they land on your site — make it clear and specific to what you actually do.

Your site is live

The moment you save, your site is published at your subdomain address. There's no 'publish' button — every change goes live automatically. Share the link on Facebook, add it to your email signature, or text it to customers.

Install to your phone

From your phone's browser, log in to SW Builder and tap 'Add to Home Screen' (on iOS: tap the Share icon, then 'Add to Home Screen'. On Android: tap the browser menu, then 'Add to Desktop'). This gives you one-tap access to manage your site anytime.

Upgrade to Pro (optional)

Ready for a custom domain like yourbusiness.com and professional email addresses like info@yourbusiness.com? Upgrade to Pro from the Billing page inside your account. We'll take care of the setup.

Using Your Own Domain

Already own a domain? On the Pro plan, you can point it to your SW Builder site. Here's how — step by step for the most common providers.

What You'll Need

  • Your domain name (e.g., joesplumbing.com)
  • Login access to your domain registrar's DNS settings
  • Your SW Builder subdomain (e.g., joes-plumbing)

Your CNAME target value

[your-subdomain].servicewebsitebuilder.simplesaasllc.workers.dev

We'll give you the exact value (with your subdomain filled in) when you upgrade to Pro.

Option A: Cloudflare Recommended

If your domain is already using Cloudflare for DNS, this is the easiest setup.

    Log in to the Cloudflare Dashboard and select your domain.

    Go to DNS → Records and click Add record.

    Add the following CNAME record:

    Type CNAME Name www Target [your-subdomain].servicewebsitebuilder.simplesaasllc.workers.dev Proxy status Proxied (orange cloud)

    For the root domain (@): go to Rules → Redirect Rules and add a permanent 301 redirect from yourdomain.com → https://www.yourdomain.com.

    Contact us at support@swbuilder.com with your domain and SW Builder subdomain so we can register the connection on our end. Usually active within a few hours.

Important Notes

  • ! DNS changes can take up to 48 hours to propagate worldwide, though most changes take less than 1 hour.
  • ! The www CNAME record is the most important. The majority of visitors land on www.yourdomain.com.
  • ! You do not need to transfer your domain to us. Keep it at your current registrar.
  • ! Once DNS is pointing to us, email support@swbuilder.com with your domain name and SW Builder subdomain and we'll complete the connection.

Email Routing

The Pro plan includes up to 5 professional email forwarding addresses — like info@yourbusiness.com — that deliver straight to your existing inbox. No new account. No new app to check.

How It Works

You keep your real inbox

Whether it's Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, or anything else — keep using it. You don't need a new email account, and there's nothing new to check.

We create your professional address

We set up info@yourbusiness.com (or any address you choose) on our email routing system, powered by Cloudflare Email Routing.

Emails forward automatically

Any email sent to info@yourbusiness.com is instantly forwarded to your real inbox. No delays, no copies stored on our servers.

You receive it normally

It arrives in your Gmail (or other inbox) just like any other email. The original "From" address shows who sent it.

Reply professionally (optional)

To have replies show info@yourbusiness.com as the sender, you can set up "Send As" in Gmail. We provide step-by-step instructions after your email forwarding is set up.

What Email Forwarding Is Not

  • ✗ Not a full email hosting service (like Google Workspace or Microsoft 365)
  • ✗ Does not create a separate inbox or mailbox
  • ✗ Cannot send outbound email directly from your custom address without additional Gmail setup
  • ✓ It IS a reliable, simple way to receive customer emails at a professional address — forwarded instantly to wherever you already check your email.

Setup Process

After upgrading to Pro and your domain DNS is configured:

Email us at support@swbuilder.com with:
  • Your domain name
  • The forwarding addresses you want (up to 5, e.g., info@, hello@, scheduling@)
  • The real inbox each address should forward to

We configure Cloudflare Email Routing on your domain.

Your forwarding addresses are usually active within 24 business hours.
